- The Return of Whitaker - Masterchef
MasterChef held up well with not much under 1.7m. Melbourne tuned in big time with 661,000 watching. Careful reading of previews yesterday indicated the red team would probably win and they did.
The 90 minute battle from Melbourne’s Press Club marked the return to television of Neale Whitaker who hasn’t been seen since his appearance on Nine’s unsuccessful HomeMADE series where he was one of the better performers.
Whitaker sat at the main table at the Press Club beside Donna Hay and with the restaurant’s directors. Whitaker is of course the editor-in-chief of Belle and associate publisher of Good Food magazine – a title that publishes recipes from MasterChef’ s George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan, but is also now a competitor to News Magazine’s MasterChef Australia magazine.
