Andrew Mercado's first steps as an infant were towards his parent's black and white TV set. Now he is one of Australia's best-loved and busiest media commentators on pop culture.

On television, he appears regularly as Mornings with Kerri-Anne's movies and reviews man.  He also hosts THE PLAYLIST, a twice weekly review show about quality TV drama for Showcase on Foxtel and Austar (watch online at www.theplaylist.com.au).

He is also regularly heard on various radio stations throughout Australia and has hosted a week's worth of evening shows across NSW for ABC Local Radio. For a complete list of his radio commitments, check out his website www.mercadotv.com.au which he writes a daily blog.

His column in TV Week called 'The Verdict' comes out in the magazine every Monday. For over two years he wrote a popular weekly TV column for The Sunday Telegraph, Australia's biggest selling newspaper. He is also a bestselling author having released SUPER AUSSIE SOAPS in 2004, a novel about the history of Australian television. He also contributed two chapters to the book 100 GREATEST FILMS OF AUSTRALIAN CINEMA and co-wrote a book about PRISONER for the world’s biggest DVD boxset.

First sighted on Channel [V] in 1998 as their inaugural entertainment reporter, Andrew eventually became the first regular face on sister channel Music Max. Still remembered to a generation of music fans as 'Super', he eventually crossed over to Max full time to create, produce and host the panel show THE KNOW.

Over the years he has interviewed such A-listers as Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, Alanis Morissette,  Village People, Kid Rock, k d Lang, Marianne Faithfull, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, Cameron Diaz, Tom Jones, Deborah Harry, Jodie Foster and Joan Rivers.

Having said that, he can get more thrilled meeting Australian TV legends as he personally supervises the release of many beloved Aussie television shows onto DVD.
